Pati Deuter grew up in Los Alamos, New Mexico, located in the mountains just above Santa Fe. The Spirit of the Southwest is reflected in her works. Pati owned and operated a gallery in Mesilla New Mexico and another in Cedaredge Colorado. She moved to Ree Heights South Dakota with her husband Jim in 1997 where she created art using the Lakota Sioux people as models and inspiration.
She and Jim moved to Sterling Alaska in November of this year. Pati is looking forward to creating art using Alaska designs and using Alaska native legends in her new work.

Pati defines her watercolors as visionary art. She uses a combination of cubism and realism to create a unique style. She says,” I have a whimsical disregard for what is expected and strive to surprise not only myself, but also the viewer with original ideas.
